Contractual Arrangements

 

 

Sessions

 

I usually offer an initial six sessions in which we establish a way of working together. Then, according to what we agree and as far as possible, we will meet on the same day and at the same time each week (I may offer sessions at greater frequency). Session length will be 50 minutes. Missed sessions will be billed. Wherever possible, and with prior notice, sessions can be re-arranged within the same week.

 

Contracts

 

I offer individual contracts:

 

  • Medium length time-limited therapy 16 weeks.

 

  • An open-ended contract, which is ongoing therapy for as long as you require. With an open-ended therapy I ask for a minimum of six weeks notice of ending such a contract. However, if we have been working together for some time, it is likely that a more lengthy period of reflection upon ending the therapy is necessary.

 

 

Confidentiality

 

I provide a confidential service. This means that sessions will not be discussed with anyone. There are, however, some exceptions:

 

  • I may discuss work with a supervisor to ensure good practice.

 

  • I would be required to provide copies of case notes or to appear in person if ordered to do so by a Judge.

 

I am also obliged to report the following to the appropriate authorities:

 

  • Current child abuse

 

  • Threats of deliberate harm against the life of another person or to oneself

 

  • Threats to commit terrorist acts.

 

 

Ethics

 

I am committed to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and practice under a code of ethics regulated by the UKCP (https://www.psychotherapy.org.uk/registers-standards/standards-guidance-and-policies/)

 

 

Data Protection

 

As required by the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), my practice is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) under the reference: ZA278033

 

When we decide to work with together, I will formally ask your permission for me to store your data and records according to ICO guidelines.
